Hi,
I'm Vaughan and I'd like to tell you a little bit about how we got to Highly Handy Ltd.
I grew up in my dads workshop and also helping him with fixing the family boats. My old man was an old school builder, where a lot of things were done by hand. Not because they had to be, but because that's the right way to do it. We built dreams in that workshop and also a way of life. I learned that there is always a better way. You just need to strive for perfection.

While tools and systems have made this process A LOT easier, the standard stays the same.
Was that job actually good? Could I do better? How could I do better? Who can help me learn?
No matter how good the result is, this is just how I am. I always feel like there can be an improvement.

In my life I have worked in many trades, starting from 15 years old; Commercial coatings and corrosion control, General House Painter, Arborist, Landscaping, Sailmaker, with odd jobs between, and then Locksmithing and always filling in between to help the cousins out painting. All that time working on my multiple boats. (a love and hate relationship).Yet, I still can't hold back my love of sailing and starting the next project. I have spent many hours planning and creating in my workshop, just as my old man did with me. Through this, I have come to a point in life where I feel I can offer my skills to you.
If you throw me a problem I can't answer straight away, I can guarantee I will find a solution.

I also have a great passion for restoration of tools, machinery and furniture. (also sailing dinghy's but I can't talk about that around my wife)
I'm happy to discuss any projects you may have, but these normally fall into my after work hobbies. Due to such I do not charge an hourly price but per piece, as I have a tendency to spend far longer than one should, striving to make something the unattainable "perfect" or just looking at the old but great simplicities of amazing workmanship.
For all legal requirements and your peace of mind, I work with a close group of friends across the trades, and when required they will jump in or sign off work at no extra charge to my customers.
